Enemy of the State

Show of hands.. How many of you saw the Will Smith movie Enemy of the State?

A tad far fetched? Not anymore.

It seems Executive Privilege, Homeland Security and Terrorist are more than just a blank check. It's as though under the guise of safety these true terrorists who reside in and frequent Washington DC are taking their cues from the movie.

A program to employ spy satellites for certain domestic uses has been postponed because of privacy concerns.

Congress had already provided money for the program, which was to begin this month. But some lawmakers demanded more information about its legal basis and what protections there were to ensure that the government was not peering into the homes of Americans. As a result, the Homeland Security Department is not formally moving ahead with the program until it answers those questions, a department spokesman said.

"..not formally moving ahead.." We all know what that means, it means we're doing it and flipping you off at the same time.

Let us all take a moment of silence for the death of our Constitution.

In talking with a right-winged friend about this satellite issue, her comment was, "If you live a clean life you have nothing to worry about." Don't we? Isn't losing our privacy something to worry about? What about the burned fragments of our Constitution?

Sometimes at night, my husband and I sit out on our back patio with a cocktail and chat about the days events. Do I care if anyone knows this? Nope. Do I care care if the government is watching me do this? You bet your sweet ass I do!

Enough! I am done giving up my civil liberties and rights that I, my father, brother, uncles and numerous forefathers fought to gain and protect. I'm tired of the scared and the true traitors (HANK). I am tired of the verbal civil war that this ass, who has the audacity to park a Bin Laden in the Lincoln bedroom, has created. I'm tired of being hated by the world for the few war mongers we have left. I'm tired of the way I have to fly because of the way I vote and what I say.

Scared? Yes I am. Not of terrorists. Of my own government and what it has done to my country and of what my countrymen have become. Frightened children who believe in a Strike First policy. Doesn't that truly define "Terrorist"?

The department would not say how long it planned to postpone the program. “We are cooperatively working with the Congress to answer any questions that they have,” said a spokesman, Andrew Lluberes. “We are totally confident that this is going to go forward.”

My feelings exactly. Damn them for spying on us... there's no other word for it.

I feel the same way ...I am much more scared of the govt at this point than the terra folks...I am sick of the antics we live with daily...I am a mom, a nurse- and guess who is on a NO FLY list...yup...and I shipped my belongings from Cal. to the heartland...when the Bin ( POD) arrived guess what had been opened ? yup...the POD, in the Name of "Security" had been opened...by HLS..."to check for Explosives", how do I know this- because the idiots put a letter in /on the pod- like that was susposed to make me feel better.....They REMOVED the following: my son's science books- chemistry and physics, and books on religion, and clothes, mosly MY clothes ( hmm , I guess they are crossdressers ?)...etc etc....

Am I pissed ? yes, because I am just a mom, and a nurse.....and I do not trust my country to do right by me anymore....

I am sure people, others have stories too....but it makes me so sad...our country has changed so much in 6 years....to something that I do not recognize....

namaste...

keep blogging...and writing...it will be up to people like us to save this country and bring it back to what it should be...

Homeland "insecurity" is what they are.

Especially when they took your clothes, e4e. I guess they want to emulate their idol, FBI director Herbert Hoover.

HLC is nothing more than a band-aid when it comes to actual security, but are more like the Gestapo to spy and gather "evidence" on anyone who isn't a "Party" member.

The Republicans are hell-bent in turning this country into an actual Republic. Guess what other country or countries are a Republics:

China; The correct title is The People's REPUBLIC of China.

N. Korea; The People's REPUBLIC of North Korea.

...And then we have one from history; 1933-1945 Germany. The country's political system was so ultra-ultra conservative, it was truly a National Socialist government bent on ridding itself of citizens with a difference of opinion and criticism of it's very policies.

Does this sound familliar? It should. It's what our country is reverting to. While the 33% of (brainwashed) supporters praise and worship their "Party" and the current administration, we are silenced and persecuted for thinking for ourselves and refuse to believe the blatant lies that spews from a one-sided "news" organization. Josef Goebbels couldn't be more proud.

With so much propaganda, it's no wonder why republicans are trying to continually try to convince Americans everyday that everything is hunky-dory.

We already know that this site is heavily monitored, so let's tell them what they don't want to hear: The truth.

Absolutely!

I think the only difference between this government today and Hitlers is, he had his "enemy combtants" put on a train and rushed off to concentration camps. Bush's gestapo will (and does) label you an enemy combatant, put you on a plane and ship you off to a concentration camp.... I mean detention center.

According to the Nuremberg Principles:
c) Crimes against humanity:
Murder, extermination, enslavement, deportation and other inhumane acts done against any civilian population, or persecutions on political, racial, or religious grounds, when such acts are done or such persecutions are carried on in execution of or in connection with any crime against peace or any war crime.

It is really depressing. I just keep hoping this is a bad dream but I know better and have to tell myself to be patient and that the pendulum will swing the other way and smart people will be back in charge.
I too don't care if they know what I do but if think a satellite is focused on me there will be a bad moon rising for sure.

I believe the nation our Founders (and many other good folk since their day) bequeathed us can still be saved. But it won't be easy. And there will be some pain (physical, economic, emotional; I'm not sure how many of those) involved. e4e's experience may be our common experience before it's all over. (Hang in there, e4e; we're watching your posts and, in a manner of speaking, watching your back.)

Parts of the political system are completely broken. The good news is that the blogosphere isn't letting anything get by without notice, comment and outrage. How much would the people of Germany in about 1933-1945 have given for a dependable source of information like that! Whatever else we do, we must hang on tenaciously to the lefty web; as long as it exists, there is hope that our nation can be saved.

You took the word right out of my keyboard. I agree with you 100%

Under this administration our privacy is no longer ours, yet this has to be the most secret administrations ever. Ask your friend about that.
