Finally! The Truth.

Biden: 'Failed policy' emboldens enemy

"It's not the American people or the U.S. Congress who are emboldening the enemy," said Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., and White House hopeful in 2008. "It's the failed policy of this president — going to war without a strategy, going to war prematurely."

The Democratic-controlled Senate plans to begin debate this week on a nonbinding resolution declaring that Bush's proposal to send 21,500 more troops to Baghdad and Anbar province is "not in the national interest."

Last week, Biden's committee approved the measure on a near party-line vote of 12-9.

In reaction, Bush challenged lawmakers not to prematurely condemn his buildup and Vice President Dick Cheney said the administration would proceed even if a nonbinding resolution won Senate approval.

Kudos to Mister Biden. Let us all keep our fingers crossed.

Note that it is a "non-binding" resolution which carries absolutely no weight to it at all. If Senator Plagarism wants to do something worthwhile it should be something with some teeth in it. Don't y'all go getting your hopes up here because the Prez does not have to abide by a NON-BINDING resolution. It's all fluff and no substance and Biden has been around long enough to know that. Sorry, consider me unimpressed!

Fine - but tell me this isn't the TRUTH?

There are two things at work here. One, Al-queda and OBL's terrosism cells had banked on the fact that we as a country don't have the stomach for a war. On this they were correct. As I stated in a revious comment on another blog, as long as the other guys are doing all the dying we're fine with war. Secondly, I believe that we had no real plan or startegy in place and this was pretty much a fly by the seat of your pants war. Not the preferable way to do things. We should have had a contigency in place already or waited until we worked up a decent plan.

All that said, what Biden is doing is just a fruitless effort and a waste of precious resources that they could be using to do something worthwhile. As of now I have yet to hear one single Democrat explain what their plan is, if in fact they even have one. I may not live in Missouri but they still need to "show me" that they have an effective plan or strategy formulated. Other than that all this is, is ploitical posturing at it's very best.

I don't know if you know this or not, but OBL was in Afghanistan when shrub turned his attention to iraq.
Being a good buddy to the Saudi's, he's not about to take out their darlin' lil' boy. Instead, he pretends he's roy in vegas and sends up smoke screens and mirrors and then - being the leader he is, crashes and burns in iraq. Who pays? Shrub? Nope.

Poor Joe. I like Joe Biden.

Joe, unfortunately, voted 'yes' to authorize the dumbest man to ever sit in the Oval Office, the authorization to do basically anything the dumbass wanted to do, so I sort of block him out a lot.

There were 23 Senators who had the common sense to know better:
* Daniel Akaka (D-Hawaii)
* Jeff Bingaman (D-New Mexico)
* Barbara Boxer (D-California)
* Robert Byrd (D-West Virginia)
* Lincoln Chaffee (R-Rhode Island)
* Kent Conrad (D-North Dakota)
* Jon Corzine (D-New Jersey)
* Mark Dayton (D-Minnesota)
* Dick Durbin (D-Illinois)
* Russ Feingold (D-Wisconsin)
* Bob Graham (D-Florida)
* Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii)
* Jim Jeffords (I-Vermont)
* Ted Kennedy (D-Massachusetts)
* Patrick Leahy (D-Vermont)
* Carl Levin (D-Michigan)
* Barbara Mikulski (D-Maryland)
* Patty Murray (D-Washington)
* Jack Reed (D-Rhode Island)
* Paul Sarbanes (D-Maryland)
* Debbie Stabenow (D-Michigan)
* The late Paul Wellstone (D-Minnesota)
* Ron Wyden (D-Oregon)

Yep, he was in Afghanistan. And "W" isn't the first prez to not achieve capturing him. His predecesor wouldn't pull the trigger on taking him out either, and that was when we actually knew where to find him. A non-binding resolution isn't much better than smoke and mirrors either. Hey Stram, in case you weren't aware the senate resolution that gave "W" this authority was sponsored and drafted by a Democrat. Sen Leiberman of Connecticut. Chalk one up for your guys.

Hey Elaine, I found that book!

http://www.cupboardmaker.com/si/004476.html

It was written by Robert Sherrill in 1970. A used copy is selling on this site for $9.00 if you're interested.

Leiberman is actually one of yours pretending to be one of ours.

That's interesting, Larry, why don't you show us the 'resolution' you're talking about?

And Larry, Joe Lieberman isn't a Democrat. He's an Israeli-American who enjoys seeing young American men and women die for the sake of Israel.

Please send us the link to that resolution.

ROFLMAO!!!!! Gee, you mean Gore chose a Republican running mate??? Does that make the other 27 democrats that voted for the bill Republicans too? If so, you can keep Kerry.

This is one link. I don't believe the co-sponsors are Jewish.

Another link with the entire text of the resloution

I unfortunately did not save the page that I originally ventured to since I had to follow several links to get what I was searching for, but, what I had posted on the other blog was C&P verbatim fromthat site.

Oh by the way, Sen Lieberman is a natural born American citizen. His parents fled Eurpoe before there was an Israel. So, that may make him an American that practices Judaism but he is NOT and never has been an Israeli. Gee, are we now judging people by their religious beliefs? Should we prohibit Catholics from holding office because they have an alliance to the Pope? Tsk, Tsk religious hatred from the left, who'd of thunk it LOL

Thanks for the link, Larry.

Having Joe Lieberman as Gore's VP was a huge mistake and if Gore would have chosen Bob Graham as his running mate instead, as a lot of us wanted, we would not be having the problems that have devastated this country over the last 6 years.

As for Liberman being born in the U.S., that means absolutely nothing and you show how truly naive you are when implying that it does.

Oh yeah, larry, let me add another clear indication as to why you're not only naive, but clueless as well.

If you were as bright as you give yourself creidt for you wouldn't have had to look up where Lieberman was born since you should have known that Artilce 2 of the Constitution clearly sates that the VP as has to be 'natural born citizen'.

Actually it was more the history of his parents that I was interested in. I have a friend who was stationed in Germay when his oldest child was born and since it was in an Army hospital she actually has dual citizenship. I was looking to see if his parents were native born more than himself. My objection is the use of hyphenated American. You're either an American or your not! All of us in this country can trace our heritage to somewhere else unless of course you are an American Indian and scientists and archeologists have shown in numerous studies that they are actually Asian in origin having come across the ice bridge that existed where the Bering Straight is now from present day Siberia.
