Delusions of Reality

Why I felt the need to take my fever and go slumming in the Red Zone, is beyond me. Maybe I was looking for humor, their whacked out ideas can be called comedy at times. Maybe I feel a need to understand where their lack of sanity comes from. Maybe I'm just a gluten for punishment. Either way, I happened across this at Red State.

More chemical weapons found in Iraq

Acting on a tip from neighbors, members of the Stryker Brigade's Alpha Company found 31 barrels of nitric acid Saturday in the walled-off front yard of a house that had been raided less than two weeks earlier.

Then the wingnuts (leaving out our white phosphorous) continue with this:

Well, that's no big deal. Don't you remember the President's statement that Saddam had, among other WMDs, Botulinum Toxin, which is used here in the US, by Nancy Pelosi and others, in the form of Botox? And don't you also remember the derision with which that warning was met by the reality-based community, which did an Olbermann on Mr. Bush, saying that it was absolutely ridiculous to be concerned about Saddam's having "botox?"

Oh give it up!!

The reasons for invading Iraq were WMD''s, bio chemicals and the al-Qaeda link. There wasn't any. NONE. Got that? NONE.

Thanks to the arrogance, lies and total stupidity of this administration, there are now. Yet these wingnuts insist on grasping at straws and insisting this invasion was the right thing to do. What a load of BS, eh? To think, bush actually had the audacity to call his little illegal war of aggression "Operation Iraqi Freedom".

What makes the remaining 23% cling to these lies and spins? Why can't they see the truth? Why can't they separate the fantasy from the reality?

So, the bad guys are making chemical weapons in Iraq...chemical weapons are classified by the UN as WMDs...so there are WMDs in Iraq...wait. That can't be right. The reality-based community said they weren't.

Ditto al-Qaeda in Iraq - they definitely aren't there. Wait...

I rest my case!

I thought you were going to tell us they found an opened bottle of nail polish remover or something. This story is so phony it smells like Cheney.

This 23% of hard-core believers is the item that keeps me awake. I am dying to know, how are they able to keep the faith despite of the wealth of information, contrary to their notions, that is there to see? So much of it, that it's basically impossible to ignore...but they do! Dear god, it is absolutely driving me crazy!

Right now, we're in an alternate reality. One of chaos. It reminds me of a "Star Trek" episode, 'Mirror Mirror', where the landing party transport back to the ship during an ion storm, and return in a different reality where barbarity and war is common for the Empire rather than the Federation and the most common way to move up in rank in the military and politics was through assasination.

Now, they're telling us they found a stash of chemicals that could be used for WMD's? What a load! It sounds like it was planted to be found. Then the 'party' could say, "I told you so." I'm not buying it. I've been over there twice, in the Persian Gulf, boarding tankers, cargo ships and other ships large enough to carry enough tonnage to be considered a threat. That was when we actually cooperated with the U.N., and the rest of the world.

We didn't find anything of the sort, travelling to or from Iraq at the time, during the Clinton Administration. We fought to maintain security for a liberated country at the behest of the Arab Nations, and sailed with the world as requested. When the job was done, we ALL came home.

I believe this is a ploy to stay as long as it takes to rob the region of its only natural resource: oil

When you only see, and bow to party lines, everything else is irrelevant. I know people who, to this day, swear Saddam was behind 9/11 and the Iraqi's "killed all those people", their words, not mine.

Blinded by fear? party lines? Hell, I wish I knew what was wrong with these sheep.

Maybe (gunner will appreciate this) a game of quarters using tequila might help. Maybe a swift kick in the ass? Maybe reinstating the draft would help. Maybe sacrificing their own child would be enough to slap them with a healthy dose of reality.

The rightwing bloggers are embarrassed that they swallowed when george told them to so they will stoop to any level to try to save face.

'Al-Qaeda in Iraq'? They were never in Iraq until we got there and there's only an estimated 1,200 of them there now.

But, of course, the mention of al-Qaeda keeps the sheep scared and herded and that's how george likes his sissies.

The only WMD I see is these pricks with their "war mentality disease"! Seriously they need to swallow the big one and accept they have killed well over 3,000 troops and countless civilians all in the name OIL!!! You ARE on fire lately, keep up the GOOD work!

This goes beyond party lines. This is just all out denial and the want to make people think they are right. One thing I can tell you about the right, is that they will never admit to being wrong. If they have to make it up as they go along, then so be it. That is what we are dealing with.

BTW, if someone gets attacked with a bow and arrow in Iraq, it will be reported as a rocket attack!

This reminds me of that strange video of Bush trying to find weapons of mass destruction under his desk and around the white house.
